Rixo | We Are One
SS26

Rixo used their spot at Fashion Week this year to stitch statements into clothing. As the world continues to divide, Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey present its audience with a polarising message: We Are One. The presentation used well-known mantras from the seventies in protest below their collection. No child should be a part of war ever, the show tells us. Make love, not war.

Known for their vintage-inspired silhouettes and hand-painted prints, Rixo leaned deeper into their seventies DNA this season. My favourite outfit was made from zig-zagging patterns made up from crochet materials, coloured in the orange and brown hues that defined the decade. A leather belt around the waist matched the leather that made circular straps on the model's neighbour's sandals. We are one: materials jumped from one model to the next, so each set of clothes was connected by design.

In a collection full of satin headscarves and their brand's signature floral print bohemia, clothes never felt more like a statement. The world continues to polarise, and here in clothing, Rixo dresses each of their models in the same references of peace and gentility.
