Original is a contemporary intersection of art, fashion and music. We are centred on thoughtful storytelling and visually driven features that foreground creatives whose work contributes to wider cultural conversations.
Original is a space defined by new generations of creative voices.

A smiling man with a beard and tattoos on his left arm, sitting in front of a whiteboard with the name 'Michael' written on it in red marker.
A woman with dark hair, wearing a black sleeveless top and pink earrings, is posing with her chin resting on her hand, looking at the camera. Above her, the phrase 'July ' and a smiley face and heart are written in pink marker on a reflective surface.

Original Magazine was formed from shared beginning and dreams.

Michael and Emily-Grace met in 2016, studying photography. By 2019, the University structure fell away and was soon replaced by the ambiguity of entering the ever changing creative industry.

Once graduating, Emily-Grace moved into fashion, working across established magazines and Michael continued into postgraduate study.

Original Magazine emerged in 2020 in response to that unsettling and unknowing space in between. Where you feel lost, but know deep down that your potential is there. This is where Original Magazine steps in.

Michael and Emily-Grace’s practice spans from editorial and commercial work, with contributions to Getty Images, Hunger Magazine, Flanelle Magazine, Pap-Magazine, Vogue Italia. Alongside this, their personal work has been exhibited internationally.

Original Magazine is shaped by learning, making and building through participation, along with the driving force and resistance of creatives.

Our approach to each project is collaborative with lasting presence.
